Prerequisite: Colorado State EMT Basic Certification and Hepatitis B vaccination series.
Students certified as an EMT in the State of Colorado are permitted to perform limited intravenous therapy under medical direction following successful completion of the course. The class includes 32 hours of classroom and lab training followed by in-hospital clinical experience. Current Colorado EMT Certification is required prior to registering for this course. National Registry Certification alone WILL NOT suffice for this course. You will also be required to have the following vaccinations: HEP B, MMR, Tdap, Varicella (or documented proof you have had Chickenpox as a child) PPD (or XRAY verifying no Tuberculosis) and a current Flu shot. Clinical time will be located in the Emergency Department of Denver Health Medical Center, Denver's busiest Level 1 Trauma Center.
This course includes the acts allowed released 01/01/2018.
